a mission worth our lives

Our mission

The Raleigh City Church exists to share the gospel and start house churches with the same blueprint as the early church. We desire to be a family of families meeting in homes around meals and reproducing our leaders and gatherings throughout the city as we become the people God has intended us to be, engaging in good works, and seeking to bless the city and the nations with the gospel and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Why Start New Churches?

people at the margins need Jesus

Many people at the margins of society are hurting and in need of Christ. Working in social services for years, Stephen was looking for a holistic Christ-centered and church-based solution. He liked what he heard and saw from our church in the western part of the state. Our vision is to use our open doors and hearts so that even the outcasts can find hope and healing through Jesus Christ.

people are moving and need a church

The Raleigh Metro area is the fourth fastest growing in the nation. As people move to the city more churches are needed. As churches decline and close, new startups must form. More people statistically come to faith in Christ in new startups versus churches 10 plus years.

People need the Church to function like a family

Our desire is to plant lots of little churches that function like families and network for support. These little churches will practice hospitality and good works for the sake of the gospel in their own neighborhoods.

The Morris Family

My name is Rodney Morris. I’m a husband to an incredible wife and proud father of four. We operate with a deep conviction that the church is at the center of God’s plan for the ages. Hannah and I are pouring everything we have into that plan. In the spring of 2019, we moved our four kids to North Raleigh. A team is forming around the vision to share Christ and start new churches. I grew up an hour south of Raleigh N.C. I became a believer in Christ during high school. I then graduated from Lancaster Bible College and am currently working on my Master’s and Doctorate of Ministry through the Antioch School. As the owner The Trim Guild LLC, I am able to support my family, use my gifts, and network with area businesses.
